The Ogun State Government has introduced revised physical-planning regulations and the Ogun State Building and Construction Code 2025 as it seeks to strengthen development control and reduce building failures. Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development Tunji Odunlami disclosed this on September 24 at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria in Abeokuta. He said the revised framework was introduced after four years of implementing the previous regulations, against the backdrop of rapid physical development in the state.

MARKET WATCH:
Ogun's property market is expanding alongside its industrial and residential growth, particularly around the Lagos–Ogun axis. That growth makes development control increasingly important. For investors, a fast-growing location is not automatically a good development location. Zoning, planning approval, drainage, road access and infrastructure capacity can determine whether today's emerging corridor becomes a sustainable property market or develops infrastructure problems later.
