The ongoing rehabilitation of the Kara Bridge on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway has become one of the week's major infrastructure stories.

The Federal Government began replacing deteriorating expansion joints on September 8, with the intervention scheduled to run until September 22.

The work has reduced available road space around the Kara axis, while a containerised heavy-duty truck crash on September 15 further disrupted movement. Traffic backed up across parts of the Lagos–Ogun corridor, affecting commuters from Mowe, Ibafo, Magboro and Arepo heading towards Lagos.

Lagos State subsequently increased the deployment of traffic management personnel along the expressway, working with Ogun State authorities and other agencies.

Market Watch:

The disruption highlights how heavily residential communities along the Mowe–Ibafo–Magboro–Arepo corridor depend on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. For property investors, accessibility remains an important factor in assessing these commuter locations.
