Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji said on September 25 that the state, working with the World Bank through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), is targeting about 1,500 kilometres of roads across the state's 16 local government areas. He said 235 kilometres are expected under the third phase of RAAMP, scheduled to begin after the rainy season. He made the announcement during a town-hall meeting in Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government Area, as part of consultations for the 2027 budget.
This comes alongside fresh approvals for urban and infrastructure construction. On September 22, the state approved ₦1.094 billion for roads in Ado-Ekiti, including Olajiga Street and the GRA 3rd Extension, and ₦340.6 million for a one-kilometre access road at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.

MARKET WATCH:
For the built environment, the significance is the network effect. Rural roads can improve movement of agricultural goods, while urban roads and airport access can strengthen commercial and residential connectivity. Investors should watch for areas where road investment is accompanied by population growth, business activity and supporting utilities—those factors are more important to long-term property demand than road construction alone.
